Terms of Service

These terms apply when you use pinenutdesigns.com or buy from Pine Nut Designs. We're Kylie and Trevor, a small, family-run shop in Northern Nevada making custom embroidery and metal work. By using our site or placing an order, you agree to these terms. Questions? Email [email protected].
Handmade products
Every metal piece is cut and finished by hand by Trevor, so each one is a little different. Small variations in size, cut lines, color and finish from the photos on our site are part of handmade work and aren't defects. Sizes listed are approximate. Colors can also look different from screen to screen.
Finishes and weathering
Our signs come in your choice of finish:
- Plain metal: will rust naturally over time.
- Rusted: a weathered rust look.
- Clear coat: sealed, natural metal look.
- Black: classic black finish.
Metal used outdoors changes with the weather. Rust, patina, fading and other natural weathering over time are expected and aren't defects, especially for plain and rusted finishes.
Prices and payment
All prices are in US dollars. Shop orders are paid at checkout through Stripe, our secure payment processor. We never see or store your full card number. We may change prices or stop offering a product at any time, but we'll honor the price shown at checkout for an order you've paid for.
Shipping and local pickup
We ship to addresses in the United States only. Your shipping cost is calculated from what's in your cart and shown at checkout before you pay. Each piece is made to order, so orders usually ship (or are ready for pickup) within 2–4 weeks. This is a typical timeframe, not a guarantee. You can also choose free local pickup in Northern Nevada at checkout, and we'll email you to arrange a time and place. Please make sure your shipping address and email are correct. Once a package is handed to the carrier, delivery times are up to the carrier.
Returns & refunds
Custom orders are final sale. Because custom orders (pieces made to your own request through our custom order process) are made just for you, we don't accept returns or give refunds on custom orders.
If there's a problem with any order, please email us at [email protected]. For items bought from our online shop, we'll work with you to make it right. Photos of the issue help us sort it out quickly.
Custom orders
Custom embroidery and metal work requests made through our "Start a custom order" form are quotes, not orders. We'll reply by email with a price and details. Custom work is confirmed by a separate agreement sent through HoneyBook, and that agreement's terms (such as deposits, timing and changes) apply to your custom order. Custom orders are final sale, with no returns or refunds (see Returns & refunds above). Metal pieces can be made up to 4 ft x 8 ft.
When you send us a design, logo, photo or text, you confirm that you own it or have permission to use it, and that it doesn't infringe anyone else's rights. We may decline any request.
Our designs and content
The designs, photos, text and logos on this site belong to Pine Nut Designs. Please don't copy, sell or reproduce them without our written permission. Buying a piece gives you that piece to enjoy; it doesn't give you the right to reproduce the design. We may share photos of finished work, including custom pieces, on our website and Instagram; if you'd rather we didn't share your custom piece, just tell us.
Using our website
Please don't misuse our site, for example by sending spam, uploading harmful files or trying to interfere with how it works. We work to keep the site accurate and running, but it's provided "as is," and we can't promise it will always be available or error-free.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Pine Nut Designs won't be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of our site or products, and our total liability for any claim related to an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. Please install and use our products safely; metal edges and hanging pieces should be mounted securely. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under law that can't be waived.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Nevada.

Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll post the new version on this page and change the effective date above. The terms in effect when you place an order apply to that order.
