Privacy Policy

Pine Nut Designs is a small, family-run shop in Northern Nevada. We're Kylie, who does our embroidery, and Trevor, who does our metal work. This policy explains what information we collect through pinenutdesigns.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. If you have any questions, email us at [email protected].
What we collect
- Custom order requests. When you use our "Start a custom order" form, we collect your name, email address, phone number (optional), the type of project, the items or pieces you describe (such as item type, color, size, dimensions, finish and quantity), your need-by date (optional), your project details, and any design files or photos you upload.
- Contact messages. When you use the form on our Contact page, we collect your name, email address, the topic you choose and your message.
- Shop orders. When you buy from our online shop, checkout is handled by Stripe. Stripe collects your payment details and the contact and shipping information needed for your order (such as your name, email address and shipping address), and shares order details with us so we can fill your order. We never see or store your full card number.
- Emails you send us. If you email us directly, we receive whatever you include in your message.
- Basic technical information. Like nearly every website, our hosting provider automatically processes technical information such as your IP address and browser type when you visit, in order to deliver and protect the site.
Your shopping cart
Our shop remembers what's in your cart using your browser's local storage, which stays on your own device. It isn't sent to us until you choose to check out, and it's cleared after a successful order. You can also clear it at any time by emptying your cart or clearing your browser's site data. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies, and we don't run analytics on this site.
How we use your information
- To reply to your questions and custom order requests, and to prepare quotes
- To make and fill your order, including arranging shipping or free local pickup by email
- To keep records of orders and payments for our business and tax needs
- To keep our website secure and working, including filtering out spam
We don't send marketing emails or newsletters through this website.
Who we share it with
We don't sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the shop, and only as needed for them to do that:
- Stripe processes shop payments and checkout. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- Cloudflare hosts our website, delivers form submissions to us by email, and stores any files you upload with a custom order request. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
- Google provides our email inbox (Gmail), where your messages and order requests arrive. Our pages also load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- If we go ahead with a custom order, we use HoneyBook to send you a contract and invoice, which shares your name, email and project details with them. See HoneyBook's Privacy Policy.
- When we ship your order, we share your name and shipping address with the shipping carrier.
We may also share information if the law requires it or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
How long we keep it
We keep messages, order requests, uploaded files and order records for as long as we need them to answer you, fill your order and keep our business records, and as required by law. When we no longer need them, we delete them.
Your choices
You can ask us to tell you what personal information we have about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Just email [email protected]. We may need to keep some records, such as payment records, when the law requires it. The forms on our site are optional; you can always email us instead.
Security
Our site uses HTTPS, payments are handled by Stripe, and uploaded files are stored privately under hard-to-guess links. No method of sending or storing information online is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable care to protect what you share with us.
Children
Our website is meant for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child has sent us information, please email us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll post the new version on this page and change the effective date above.
